Introduction
The Ramadan Art Competition, organised by a subsidiary of Al Mirqab Malls, Doha Mall, invites artists and creatives residing in Qatar to express their interpretation of the theme: “Ramadan of Meanings”. This competition celebrates artistic talent and the spirit of Ramadan, providing a platform for participants to showcase their creativity and connect with the community.
Eligibility
- The competition is open to all residents of Qatar, with a valid National ID.
- Participants under the age of 18 must submit written consent from a parent or legal guardian to enter.
- Employees, affiliates, and immediate family members of Al Mirqab Malls (Doha Mall) are not eligible to participate.
- Participants must be following @onedohamall on Instagram.
Submission Guidelines
- Each participant may submit only one original piece of artwork.
- The artwork must be entirely created by the participant, free from plagiarism, and not previously submitted to other competitions or published elsewhere.
- Accepted mediums include digital art and photography.
- Submissions must strictly align with the theme: “Ramadan of Meanings”
- All entries must reflect Qatar’s cultural values and Islamic principles. Content deemed inappropriate or offensive will result in immediate disqualification.
- Submissions must be made online via the official competition webpage. Physical submissions will not be accepted.
- Digital file requirements:
- Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, or PDF.
- Maximum file size: 10MB.
- Winning artist must be able to provide the artwork’s Open File in in AI, PSD format.
Timeline
- Submissions open: 6th February 2025
- Submission deadline: 22nd February 2025
- Winners announced: 26th February 2025
Winner Announcement
- The winner will be announced on Doha Mall’s social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook & Twitter.
- The Customer Service or Marketing team will verify the winner’s details.
- They will provide the winner with all necessary information for claiming their prize, including required identification, details of the prize acceptance event, and any other formalities that need to be completed.
- If the winner is unable to collect their prize in person, they may authorize someone else to do so. The authorized person must present the winner’s valid Qatari ID and passport (original passport required), along with two signed copies of each document. Additionally, they must submit two recent passport-sized photographs and an authorization letter signed by the winner. The same requirements apply to the person claiming the prize.
- The prize cannot be transferred to anybody else. The prize can be claimed only by the winner themselves.
- If the prize remains unclaimed, Al Mirqab Malls (Doha Mall)reserves the right to select an alternate winner.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on the following criteria:
- Relevance to Theme (40%): How well the artwork reflects the essence of Ramadan.
- Creativity (30%): Originality and innovative approach to the theme.
- Artistic Quality (20%): Skill, technique, and attention to detail.
- Presentation (10%): Overall visual impact and coherence.
Prizes
Winner will receive QAR 10,000 cash prize, and their artwork will be placed in the Mall.
Terms & Conditions
- Definition of the Organiser:
The organiser of this competition is a subsidiary of Al Mirqab Malls, Doha Mall, located in Abu Hamour, Doha, Qatar. The organiser is solely responsible for managing the competition, including submissions, judging, and prize distribution.
- All submissions must comply with the cultural norms, and Islamic values. Entries that fail to meet these requirements will be disqualified.
- Participants retain full copyright of their artwork but grant Al Mirqab Malls (Doha Mall) non-exclusive rights to display, reproduce, and promote the artwork for competition-related purposes, including social media and print banners.
- The organiser reserves the right to reject incomplete or inappropriate entries or entries that do not adhere to the competition guidelines.
- The decision of the judging panel is final and binding, and no appeals or disputes will be entertained.
- The organiser is not liable for any loss or damage to submissions during the competition process.
- Personal data collected through the competition will be handled in compliance with Qatar’s data privacy regulations and will not be shared with third parties.
